Gentofte Kommune Job Centre

The Job Centre can give you information about job vacancies, and you can get advice about your job search, the Danish labour market and your industry. The Job Centre can also help if you’ve found a company that is willing to offer you a work experience placement or a job with subsidised wages.

You can come and speak to a careers advisor at the Job Centre any Wednesday from 10 am to 12 noon. The Job Centre is located at Maltegårdsvej 1, DK-2920 Charlottenlund. There’s no need to make an appointment; just come along. You can also email jobcenter@gentofte.dk if you have any questions.

You’re welcome to sit in Reception at the Job Centre during opening hours and use the computers for your job search. You can also use the computers in Gentofte Kommune’s libraries.

International House Copenhagen

International House offers a wide range of job and career programmes for international citizens. The programmes are free of charge. International House is located at Nyropsgade 1, DK-1602 Copenhagen.

Work experience placement means you’ll be working for a company for up to four weeks. If you’re on unemployment benefit or receiving social security, your benefit will stay the same during your work experience placement.

A work experience placement could be your pathway to a new job. You’ll get to know a company; you can try your hand in new roles, and you’ll acquire new skills.

You have to find your work experience placement yourself. The Job Centre can help you with practical matters once you’ve found your work experience placement.

If you’re unemployed, you may be employed with subsidised wages in either a private or a public-sector workplace. You will be paid, and the company receives a grant for your salary.

You can be on subsidised wages in a job with a private employer for a maximum of six months, or four months in the public sector.

You’ll enhance your skill-sets and expand your network, which will make it easier for you to find a permanent job.

Once you have agreed with an employer about taking a job with subsidised wages, the Job Centre can help you further.
