- Parental leave is divided into four different types of leave: pregnancy leave, maternity leave, paternity leave and parental leave.
- New parents are entitled to a combined total of 52 weeks’ leave. Some of the weeks are reserved for the mother, and you can allocate the rest between you.
- It depends on your job situation whether you can receive your salary or parental leave benefit while you are on leave.
New parents are entitled to take time off work when having a baby or adopting a child. During parental leave, you can either receive salary or parental leave benefit.

Students or newly qualified
