Once you have an address in Denmark, you are entitled to Danish health insurance. This means you can go to the doctor and go to the hospital without having to pay.

Good to know

  • Health insurance provides you with free medical care and grants for other treatments such as physiotherapy. You are entitled to Danish health insurance when you have an address in Denmark.
  • To be covered, you must have a CPR number and a yellow health insurance card. The card is your proof that you have the right to receive help from Danish health insurance.
  • You choose a local General Practitioner to be your doctor. You can choose your doctor yourself when you apply for your health insurance card.
